Sunset at dancing time.

After dinner and orientation we danced for a while on the top deck. It was tricky, what with rocking and an astroturf (over steel) floor.

Turtle Day! We motored to the south side of Santa Cruz at Puerta Ayora. In the morning we drove up the mountain and saw two large sinkholes, visited a private farm with wild tortoises (saw Aku), and saw a lava tube.

Peter in the distance

After lunch we went to the Darwin Research Center and saw Lonely Georg and other tortoises large and small. We were greeted at the Research Center cay by a pile of iguanas, as well. We walked from the center through the town of Puerta Ayora, and left from the dock there. I sent post cards, and tried to send an e-mail from town, but without success. After dinner, I went straight to bed. Peter and Mary Lea played a while, but I missed it.
