It was a chariot racetrack/sports arena

From the Colosseum, we reboarded the bus and rode around to the Circus Maximus, now just a grassy park, with an impressive view across it to the Palatine Hill and the palace of the Caesars. We finished up by meeting several Pirelli big-shots at their headquarters.

Dee Dee approaches the Trevi

After the formal tour, we stayed in the city for dinner before taxiing back to the Holiday Inn.

Next morning we headed for the city. We took the hotel shuttle to the subway, and then on into the city. Becky, Patrick, and the Koczors left before Dee Dee and I, and we took slightly different routes, but met at the Trevi fountain. Then Dee Dee and I continued on to the Spanish Steps and Piazza Navona.
