The hotel tower was a great sitting spot.

We were slowing down a bit by this time. I was the slowest of the bunch. They left me, heading for the Vatican as I finished getting ready. I was to take the next shuttle over. We agreed to meet near the Obelisk in St. Peter's square. And, if we missed there, at a later time at the Colosseum.

The shuttle was late and, once it got there I found, already booked and full. I ended up riding with a group of Welshmen over for the rugby game. Their national team was to play Italy. We caught a taxi together.

I went to the obelisk, about 10-15 minutes late. I walked right up to it and strolled around it. Only one young lady was actually near -- everyone else was hanging out around a barricade about 15 yards our from it all around. Turns out, I wasn't supposed to be there either, so she threw me out. I didn't see Dee Dee or Packy, so assumed they already headed to the museum. So, I got in line for the Vatican museum again and commenced a whirlwind tour. I saw a bit more, though hardly enough.

It turned out that they were standing at the obelisk when I came. As proof, I found a picture Dee Dee took of the obelisk that had me walking toward the girl!

We met at the Colosseum, and toured the interior.

After getting together at the Colosseum, we headed south. The small pyramid was beside the old wall to the city on the south, near a bus terminal. We ate at a little pizza place full of real Italians, not just tourists. From there we caught a bus on the Via Appia to the Catacombs.
